City of Cape Town expanding our children's worlds

Thanks to the support of the City of Cape Town, the ProNutro JAGRunners recently had the opportunity to take part in the Milkwood fun run at Soetwater recreational area in Kommetjie.

Most of the kids had never been there before and it was a huge adventure for them to travel "over the mountain" to Kommetjie. They were amazed how beautiful it is at Soetwater and were having so much fun in this new exciting environment that they did not want to leave to go home.

The whole bus drive over the mountain and down the steep Ou Kaapse Weg was also a big (for some quite scary!) adventure.

All the race finishers got plants to take home instead of the usual medals. This was something very new to the kids and a great oppurtunity for the coaches to talk to them about looking after the environment. Some of the kids were not too sure what to do with the plants and the Coaches suggested they give the plant to their moms for mothers day which they thought was a fantastic idea.

Going to this event really expanded the world of these children and they now have a much bigger frame of reference to dream.
